Membership
To become a member of the Alliance,
you must be a political jurisdiction that operates, or contracts with an
organization to provide a Fire/EMS department. As an example, the
Beavercreek Township Trustees are responsible for the oversight of the
Beavercreek Fire Department which provides Fire and EMS services to the
Township and City of Beavercreek. Consequently, they designate who will
represent the Township on the Alliance Board of Directors and pay their
membership dues. Dues are 24 cents per capita based on the fire department
jurisdiction coverage derived from the 2000 U.S. Census.
Full Board Membership is limited to those jurisdictions operating in
Greene, Montgomery, and Warren
Counties in Ohio.
Affiliate Membership
An organization not meeting the
definition of member. Examples are the Red Cross or a college/university,
etc. Usually an entity that is not a local Government, but whose
participation would provide mutual benefits. Affiliate members can serve
on committees, but do not have a vote as a Board member.
Associate Membership
A Governmental jurisdiction
responsible for their community's Fire and EMS protection, whose
boundaries are beyond the Alliance boundaries, can become Associate
Members of the Alliance. Associate Members pay a $500 annual fee (minimum
two year contract) and a 1% handling fee for any single bid base price in
excess of $20,000.
